Skytrax released their report of “The World’s Top 100 Airports in 2017,” and in light of this, we thought we’d take you through the top 10 airports in the world, and discover what it is that sets them apart.Every year Skytrax surveys millions of passengers worldwide in order to determine the best airports in the world. The survey sample spans 550 airports and requires passengers to rate their airport experience based on various factors, such as security, check-in, transfers, arrivals, shopping and more. They then release their findings in what is known as the World Airport Awards (also known as the Passenger’s Choice Awards). Essentially, the World Airport Awards are the Oscar’s of the airport industry and winning one is a very prestigious honour

Tom Otterness, an American sculptor, created a series of large bronze sculptures for the Hamad Airport. The series is composed of eight sculptures that appear as though they’re playing together, and the best part: the playground’s seats and slides are made from the bronze limbs of the sculptures. This playground is truly perfect for adults and children alike!7

Fun Fact: Did you know the Frankfurt Airport offers airport tours?

The Frankfurt Airport offers, not one, but nine different airport tours. Each tour is built around a different theme and is recommended based on the amount of time the individual has to spare. Some of the tours that travellers can choose from include: the Mini Tour, the XXL Tour, the Ready for take-off Tour, and the After Work Tour. Personally, we recommend checking out the Sunset Tour; you’ll be able to watch the planes take-off as the sun sets, and then finish your evening with a champagne celebration in the Käfer’s Restaurant.11
