CELL PHONES PERMITTED ON PLANES
June, 2008

The European Commission has lately approved the use of portable phones while boarding the planes on all european flights.  These new rules will set a new common standard throughout Europe.

The Commission's green light has now open the way for the airline companies to launch their own mobile boarded telephony system later in the year.  Vivianne Reding, the Telecommunications' Commissary, has however, warned all telephony operators, by inviting them to provide these aerial call services at reasonable rates and to encourage the passengers to use them parsilmoniously.

"The mobile telephone services during a flight can become a new very interesting service, especially for businessmen who travel and who must be able to communicate wherever they are", has explained Mrs. Reding.
